Manufacturing that makes our wish to always be beautiful come true

Since its founding, our company has always treasured manufacturing that broadens aesthetic values.
We have conducted research and development to create innovative products at the research institute while the manufacturing facility provided a rapid yet stable production/supply.

We will continue to create and deliver innovative products to all those who wish to always be beautiful.

Various efforts made at the research institute

  • New product development

Development of a formula for new products that are slated to launch. High quality products that meet the consumer demands are rapidly sent to the market.

  • New technology development

In order to invent a new market, we develop new technologies together with in-house salons and external collaborating salons that lead to an increase in performance of existing products, new product development and intellectual property.

Researchers developing technology in the research lab
  • Fundamental research

We conduct highly specialized hair research and research on new ingredients to utilize them for new product development. We also work together with universities to deepen our knowledge of hair and haircare products. We make presentations at academic conferences and submit research reports regarding new active ingredients and academic discoveries.

  • Quality assurance

Our company has constructed and operated a system to continue to manufacture high quality products, including compliance with cosmetic GMP. We inspect products manufactured at the production facilities and develop mass production technology following the research development results.

  • Educational and technological instructions

We provide lectures on hair science at educational institutes, including beauty schools and universities. Our company aims to expand the entire industry by extensively disseminating cosmetic-related knowledge outside the company, including to technical partnerships with overseas companies.

Various efforts made at the Higashi-Matsuyama manufacturing facility

  • Production and logistics

Our manufacturing facility strives to improve productivity through multiple mixing vessels in different sizes, high-speed filling and packaging lines, and collaboration with subcontracting production companies. We boast multiple logistics hubs across Japan to make rapid and stable supply possible.

    Warehouse within the factory
  • Peace of mind, safety, high quality

Our manufacturing facility has reinforced traceability that tracks ingredient procurement to production and delivery, and we established our own standards that comply with cosmetic GMP. We have also established and maintained our own quality assurance system for all processes to strive consistently to improve quality.

    Quality control staff
  • Developing human resources

We have introduced a skill certification system to enhance individual employee skills, such as safety, accuracy, and attentiveness during production. We also developed an internal training program.

    factory staff
  • Labor safety

Through committee activities we strive to establish a safe and hygienic work environment, to improve workforce motivation, and to enhance employee physical and mental health.

  • Environment and social contributions

Our manufacturing facility has a production system featuring wastewater treatment using bacteria, the recycling of materials, and environmentally friendliness in mind. We also accept student fieldtrips, have an internship system, and employ disabled individuals to help contribute to the community.

The flow of research, development, and production

What follows is the process of how products are delivered to our customer and a behind-the-scenes overview of ARIMINO’s manufacturing process.

Step01
Planning meeting

Product planning

We create a new product concept, and product plans based on market needs, target analysis, and interviews with salons.

Step02
Joint development situation

Joint development with salons and hairstylists

We firm up the planning requirements while exchanging ideas with salons and hairstylists who actually use the products to further improve the granularity and quality of the product plan.

Step03
Prototyping and testing

Formula development

We design a formulation for the new product (research on ingredients, combination of enriched ingredients, and blending quantity) and repeat trial manufacturing and testing.

Step04
Stability and Safety Testing Equipment

Stability and safety tests

We conduct tests during the last phase of product development to ensure stability and safety of the product. Stability test includes temporal change tests and container tests taking various storage environments into account. Safety tests include a corrosion test.

Step05
Mixing ingredients according to factory production scale

Scaling up

The size is gradually increased from the beaker to determine the optimum blending condition for the manufacturing facility production scale.

Step06
Inside the warehouse

Production preparation

Purchasing ingredients from suppliers that are necessary to make products. The quality is checked during the ingredient reception inspection. The ingredients that passed the inspection are respectively stored in an ingredient warehouse and packaging materials are stored in a designated warehouse. They are taken out to the mixing, filling, or packaging room at the time of production.

Step07
Weighing process

Measuring

Employees wash their hands and remove large dust using an adhesive roller and go through an air shower before entering the room. The ingredients that are delivered from the warehouse are measured according to the blending instructions.

Step08
The process of compounding

Blending

From high viscosity to low viscosity, materials are blended in a mixing vessel according to size. The content’s quality and safety, including blend ratio, physical property value, and presence/absence of impurities, are checked in the quality assurance room.

Step09
Filling line

Filling

The product is placed in containers on the automated filling line. Product inspection using a high-speed camera prevents foreign objects from entering, and auto-checkers checks all products to ensure the product is precisely filled in the containers.

Step10
Packaging and quality inspection

Packaging

Products are packaged manually or on an automated packaging line. Products then go through a shipping inspection. The products are inspected from the content of the finished product to packaging.
